Jamaican born artist Shernett Muhammad, captures the art show theme, "bloom where you are planted", in humanity and in nature. The bloom is life revealing itself in the art of creation through events, people, places and nature... "
Her paintings will be featured through the month of February 2009 at Florida Memorial University in the Lou Rawls Theater.
The Bloom is as a blade of grass, a wild plant that finds small crack in the concrete of a sidewalk; it struggles to survive as it reaches beyond the harsh environment of which it exsist. Explore this cultural event this coming February 2009 as your ears are entertained with the jazz sounds of Thelonius Monk, the Birdman, Miles Davis and more. The paintings are one of a kind created by Shernett Muhammad, a local South Florida artist who has inspired others to display their concept to the theme, "The Bloom".
